Book Publishing

We are able to produce all types of books from full colour children’s books, hardcover coffee table books, novels etc. Our fee includes a reading and editing service, design and layout, ISBN number acquisition, libraries distribution, and negotiation with printers. We do not support vanity publishing and therefore ensure the book is one of good quality before our logo goes on the cover. Short runs of books produced by us serve a number of purposes.

Literary Agents

Before we recommend a book to a publisher, we need to ensure that it is something we feel is suitable for publication. We pride ourselves on our good relationships with publishers and will not recommend anything that they would not seriously consider. Obviously, we cannot be sure that publishers will accept every manuscript we submit, as there are other considerations beyond our power, such as the financial restraints of the company at that time, other books being produced simultaneously, current fashions, etc.

Design and Layout Services

We believe customers should have a large say regarding the design of their book cover. We provide guidance on the topic, giving customers several options to consider. We know, for instance, colour co-ordination and text styles are crucial and have an impact on the retail success of the work.

Osborne Porter produces promotional posters and leaflets.

Manuscript Assessment

We quote per 10,000 words and prefer the electronic version of the manuscript. Should the work include numerous graphics we would need the hard copy. This service has proved to be popular, with customers commenting that it assisted them to make their work more interesting for retail.
